Studio Addendum

This addendum applies when you use NAL Studio — the AI-powered content-creation tools, including the video editor, comic editor, and the playforge game generator.

It is part of the Terms of Service and incorporates the AUP, Privacy Policy, and Content License.

Effective date: 2026-05-15

1. What Studio Is

Studio is a suite of AI-assisted creation tools:

  • Video editor — text-to-video, image-to-video, scene editing, voice-overs;
  • Comic editor — character sheets, panel layout, ControlNet-driven consistency, IP-Adapter (where enabled);
  • Playforge — game prototype generation (assets, simple logic).

Generation runs on NAL infrastructure and on community GPUs contributed through NAL Net. Where you have set a preference, jobs may route to specific providers.

2. Pricing

2.1. Studio actions are priced per action. The price depends on:

  • the model and resolution selected (e.g., Wan2GP video models have different costs per second of output);
  • the duration of the requested output;
  • whether you have selected a community GPU (NAL Net) or a hosted endpoint.

2.2. The applicable price is shown before you submit the job. If the model produces less output than reserved (you cancel mid-way, the model returns a partial result), the unused reservation is refunded within minutes.

2.3. Bulk credit reservations: see Section 2.3 of the Payments and Refunds Policy.

3. Generated Content — Rights

3.1. Commercial use is intended. Studio is built so that you can use the output commercially — in ads, paid videos, monetised content, client deliverables, products you sell. This is the default expectation for almost every model in the picker. Exceptions are flagged.

3.2. Ownership and the AI-copyright gray zone. Subject to Section 3.3 below, you own what Studio generates for you. Section 5 of the Content License and the AI-output gray-zone disclaimer there apply in full. In short: copyright law on AI-generated work is unsettled — in some jurisdictions purely AI-generated output is not eligible for copyright protection at all, which means anyone could legally reuse it. Treat AI output as "yours to use" but not necessarily "yours to forbid others from using".

3.3. Underlying model licence overrides. Some models in the picker have commercial-use restrictions in their own licence (research-only models, models prohibited for advertising, models restricted by the rights-holder of the training data). Studio surfaces these restrictions in the model picker and pins them to the output: if you select a non-commercial model, your output inherits that limitation regardless of your intent. Where the model licence and these Terms conflict, the model licence applies to that output.

3.3. Reference materials. Where you upload reference images, poses, audio, or text prompts for the model, you represent that you have the right to use those materials for the purpose of the generation. NAL does not verify rights and is not liable for infringement caused by reference inputs you provide.

3.4. Style cloning of real people. Generating likenesses of real people, voice clones, or style mimicry of a recognisable individual artist is restricted (see AUP Section 4.4). For consensual likeness use, you must hold the depicted person's written consent and may be required to upload evidence.

3.5. Watermarking. Some Studio outputs include an invisible watermark indicating AI provenance. The watermark is not removable through NAL tools and may be detected by third-party verifiers.

4. NAL Net Routing — Third-Party Visibility

⚠️ Your job is sent to a third party. Studio's default routing sends most generation jobs to community-operated GPU workers through NAL Net. The worker who processes your job is not an NAL employee — they are an independent third party running a worker on their own hardware. They see your prompt and the output in plaintext. Pick "hosted endpoint only" in the model picker if your material is sensitive.

4.1. Studio jobs may be routed to community GPUs registered with NAL Net (see NAL Net Addendum).

4.2. What community workers see. A community worker that processes your job sees:

  • your prompt (text, image, or audio input),
  • the model selection and parameters,
  • the output they produce.

They do not see your name, email, or NAL account ID. The job is routed through NAL's coordinator (nal-net) which strips identity before dispatch.

4.3. Worker obligations. NAL Net workers are contractually forbidden from retaining, copying, training on, commercially using, or re-identifying material that passes through their worker (NAL Net Addendum Section 3.3.2). NAL monitors compliance and deactivates workers found in breach. NAL cannot physically prevent a determined worker from exfiltrating data they receive, so the warning above is operational, not legalistic.

4.4. Privacy expectations. Because community workers see prompts and outputs, do not submit jobs through community routing if the input or output contains personal data of others, private business information, content under non-disclosure agreement, or anything you would not show to a stranger. For sensitive jobs, select a hosted endpoint in the model picker — that excludes community workers and accepts the higher price.

4.5. Failover. If a community worker fails, the job retries on a hosted endpoint where available, or refunds. You will not be charged twice.

5. Music and Audio

5.1. Audio generation in Studio (background score, voiceover) is delivered by ACE-Step, nal-music, or upstream providers (Runware) depending on the model selected. Where music generation has its own product surface, the Music Addendum applies in addition.

6. Real-Time Editing and Collaboration

6.1. Some Studio surfaces (comic editor) support real-time collaboration. Collaborators you invite see the same canvas, layers, and asset library. They cannot spend from your wallet — their actions are charged to their own wallet.

7. Sharing and Publication

7.1. When you export a Studio output for download, it is sent to your device only. Sharing the output elsewhere (Guild, social media, file servers) is your decision.

7.2. Posting to Guild from Studio. Studio offers a one-click "post to Guild" affordance. Posting incurs the standard Guild post fee (see Guild Addendum Section 2). The Content License becomes the public-guild licence in Section 4 of the Content License.

8. Disclaimer

Studio outputs can contain artefacts, factual errors, and infringing elements. NAL does not warrant fitness for any purpose and is not liable for consequences of using Studio output commercially or otherwise. See Section 12 of the Terms of Service.
